Glad someone who is honest enough to admit he is anti DOL is also honest enough to admit he could be wrong. All I ask any Villa fan who reads my earlier mail is plaese get other Lions in on this debate.

oleary did a good deal getting Erick B down from Leeds on loan we where only paying less than 10,000 a week peanuts at todays rates he did a good job for us but what did Doug do he made DOL send him back as a COST CUTTING MEASURE !!.

Is Oleary to blame for that ? and what message does it send out to the other players ? Well I will spell it out ASTON VILLA'S BOARD IE DOUG HAS NO AMBITION.

We have to wake up there is not a manager in the Premiership that would do any better with the players we have. I hear you all say 16 million he's had 16 million well here'a fact for you Dougs figures include the wages he's paying the players over the length of their contract thats not fiction its fact.

Can you imagine what the big threes transfer money spent would be if they included wages !!.

Doug's hood winking us all not for the first time wont be the last.

We are a big club in terms of history and fan base but not in terms of our Chairman being able to compete in the current day transfer market. By the way Sunderland are also a big club loads of history loads of fans but look where lack of investment is taking them do we want to go the same way ? It can happen all the talk of we are to big to go down is a load of bull ask fan's of Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves.

Come on lets get it all out in the open for once love or hate DOL he is telling us the truth about the situation at the club.

I have been a Villa fan since I was six and am now forty two so have seen a few highs and lows.

I can't though understand the calls for David Oleary's head from some of our faithful. You only have to look back at what he did at Leeds to see the style of football he wants to play.

Yeah as an ex gooner he loves a clean sheet, nothing wrong with that in my book !. Leeds where hard to beat under him but they also played exciting attacking football remember Harry Kewell, Alan Smith, Viduka, Rio F, and the rest. Oleary was responsible for all of them. And by the way Leeds problems started when they got rid of him.
He bought well and mixed experiance and youth well and you dont get to a Champions League Semi by luck !.

We at Villa have to get real how can Oleary or any manager compete seriousley for honours with what we have got it's not realistic and we all know it but of course dont want to admit to it.

And our man has not done that bad we are only four points behind The Mag's up in Geordie Land and look what they spent Owen 18 million Parker 6 million Emre 4 million Luque 9 million need I go on ! and I tell you this if Oleary had that lot to work with at our place we would have been in top 4 or 6 no problem no danger !

Has Oleary moaned or has he just told us the truth about our club we have had a real problem with injury this season thats not an excuse but a reason a fact. At the Albion and the Blues they offer it up all the time as a reason to their problems and the media in particular the local press fall over themselfs to be sympathatic. However if DOL mentions it he's called a moaner !

Also why are we having a go at a bloke who wants to bring in quality players into the club Wenger does it at Arsenal Fegie at Man Utd ,Raffa at Liverpool and of course Jose at Chelsea and what does it bring them SUCCESS. Not rocket science is it!.
Does any Villa fan really think that if Roman Abramovich took over tomorrow he would say to the manager Oh your squad is ok we dont need to spend any money and pay the going rate to attract top class talent. Of course he wouldn't

Oleary has to be given our support we have to turn the pressure back on Doug he has to cough up so we can compete or sell to someone at a FAIR price so they can put in the funds to take us forward and before people start putting up Bolton and Wigan as an example just remember they might not pay alot in transfer fees but they do pay to wages dont be fooled into thinking all Big Sam's free transfers come for the good of their health. Also Dave Whelean had a nice kitty of 20 million or so put by should Wigan have got into trouble both Bolton and Wigan know one way or another you have to spend in The Premiership if you want success.

Two teams enduring disappointing campaigns come face to face at The Valley on Saturday when Aston Villa are the visitors.

Charlton maintained their 12th position in the Premiership table when they drew 0-0 at Newcastle United on Wednesday and while their position may be considered par for the course by many observers, Alan Curbishley must be disappointed his side have squandered their impressive start to the campaign.

David O'Leary's men have earned 17 of their 30 points away from Villa Park and last tasted defeat on the road against Doncaster Rovers in the Carling Cup in November. Their last away fixture saw them thump Middlesbrough 4-0, with exciting youngster Luke Moore claiming a hat-trick. (Source www.4thegame.com)
